Registered Sex Offender Policy
The purpose of Hunter College’s policy relating to Sex Offenders is to increase the safety for
Students, Faculty and Staff. This will be accomplished by providing timely and appropriate notification
of the presence of a convicted sex offender.
This notification shall be in accordance to the “Campus Sex Crime Prevention Act” of 2000, which
ammends the Jacob Wetterling Crimes Against Children and Sexually Violent Offenders Registration act, the
Jeanne Clery Act, the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and applicable New York State Law and
shall be followed in a manner which maintains safety without creating excessive anxiety among students,
faculty and staff.
